Square One Bookkeeping (“we,” “us,” “our”) provides bookkeeping and QuickBooks support services. This policy explains what information this website collects, why, and what choices you have. It applies to squareonebookkeeping.com only.
Bookkeeping client records are covered separately
If you are a bookkeeping client, the financial records, payroll data, and accounting files you share with us in the course of that engagement are not governed by this website policy. They are handled confidentially under the terms of your engagement with Square One Bookkeeping and are never collected through, stored on, or processed by this website. This page is about website visitors.
Information you give us
The contact form on this site asks for:
- Your name
- Your email address
- Your phone number
- What kind of business you run
- How your books are handled right now
- Roughly how many transactions you have per month
- Any message you choose to write
We use this only to respond to your inquiry and to understand whether we are a good fit for your business. We do not sell it, rent it, or share it for anyone else’s marketing.
Information collected automatically
Like most websites, this one records standard technical information when you visit: your IP address, browser and device type, the pages you view, how long you stay, and the site or search that referred you.
Cookies and tracking
This site uses cookies and similar technologies. Some are necessary to make pages work. Others are analytics and advertising technologies, which run subject to the cookie consent choices you make in the banner on this site:
- Google Analytics 4 — measures how visitors find and use the site, in aggregate. We use it to understand which pages are useful, not to identify you personally.
- Meta (Facebook) Pixel — records that a visit happened so that we can measure advertising performance and reach similar audiences on Facebook and Instagram.
- Google reCAPTCHA — protects the contact form from automated spam. It is provided by Google and runs on the page containing the form.
These are third-party services. Once data reaches them it is also governed by their own policies: Google Privacy Policy and Meta Privacy Policy.
Cookies currently in use on this site
Changing your mind: you can reopen the cookie banner’s preferences panel at any time to withdraw or change your consent. You can also block or delete cookies in your browser settings, and you can opt out of Google Analytics specifically using Google’s browser opt-out add-on.
Who else handles this data
We keep the list short and use each provider only for the purpose described:
- Our web host, which stores the site and its form submissions
- Our email provider, which delivers form submissions to us
- Google (Analytics and reCAPTCHA) and Meta, as described above
- MoodUS Media LLC, which maintains this website for us and may see form submissions in the course of that support work
We may also disclose information if the law requires it. We do not sell your personal information.
How long we keep it
We keep contact form submissions for as long as we need them to respond to you and to maintain ordinary business records, and we delete them when they are no longer needed. Analytics data is retained according to the retention settings of the services above.
Your choices
You can ask us what information we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it. Email maria@squareonebookkeeping.com and we will respond. Depending on where you live, you may have additional rights under laws such as the GDPR or state privacy laws; tell us what you are asking for and we will do our best to honor it.
Security
This site is served over an encrypted HTTPS connection and is kept updated and monitored. No website can promise perfect security, but we take reasonable steps to protect the information we hold.
Children
This site is intended for business owners. It is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect information from them.
Changes to this policy
If we change this policy we will update the date at the top of this page.
